Immigrants placed in detention centers are placed in such a traumatic and scarring environment their overall mental and physical health is affected. Detention centers are an inhumane and awful experience that men, women, and children are put through.

How Detention Centers cause mental and physical harm to immigrants:
experience harassment from officers
are victims of sexual assault from officers
experience inadequate health examinations and medical treatment
are placed in inhumane, unsanitary, and cruel living conditions
wives, husbands, and children are separated and placed in different facilities (sound familiar)
given inedible food and dirty water
